The Wingham and District Hospital will experience a closure of the emergency department tonight.
The Listowel and Wingham Hospital Alliance confirms that the ED in Wingham will close unexpectedly at 5 p.m. tonight (September 11) and will reopen at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, September 12.
Ambulances will still be available to reroute any patients who need emergency services to other surrounding hospitals. Anyone experiencing a medical emergency should still dial 911 for assistance.
This is a last minute vacancy that the LWHA says it's unable to fill.
