United Way brings back annual Unite for a Bite campaign

United Way Perth Huron is bringing back a popular fundraiser.

The Unite for a Bite campaign returns to North Perth this year, which helps United Way give assistance to the most vulnerable residents in the area.

This year, 7 local restaurants are participating. Businesses can opt to buy lunch for their employees, encourage employees to take part through a $20 meal purchase, or buy meals and donate them to local organizations that would benefit from the meals. Individual or small group orders are also welcome. Five dollars from every meal purchased will be directed towards UWPH’s work in North Perth.

The event this year will be on Friday, October 20. UWPH will also host a silent auction this time, with bidding on a lengthy list of items closing at 4 p.m. on October 20. The deadline to order meals from participating restaurants is Friday, October 13.

Participating restaurants include the Atwood Café, Diana Sweets, Holy Guacamole, Jetts Juice, the Kitchen Cupboard & Icebox, Spice India Indian Cuisine and Veky’s International Cuisine. Those interested in joining this community-wide initiative can email North Perth Mayor, Todd Kasenberg, at tkasenberg@perthhuron.unitedway.ca
