OPP cruiser collides with stolen vehicle

Wellington County OPP say an officer is okay after a collision with a suspect vehicle near Palmerston on the morning of October 25.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Wellington Road 9 and Concession 12.

Constable Joshua Cunningham says the incident was part of an investigation.

"Officers were investigating a stolen vehicle in the Town of Minto and that vehicle collided with an OPP cruiser," Constable Cunningham said. "A passenger from the stolen vehicle and an OPP officer were transported to hospital as a precaution. The officer has since been released from hospital."

Police are asking drivers to avoid the area as they continue to investigate.

Anyone with information is asked to contact OPP or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
