Georgian Bluffs now has Climate Action Plan

Georgian Bluffs Council has officially adopted the Township’s first ever Corporate Climate Action Plan.

The plan sets clear targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and outlines strategies to adapt to the ongoing impacts of climate change.

Council expects the Action Plan to provide a roadmap towards a more sustainable and resilient future.

After extensive research and discussion, Council adopted the plan on Wednesday, November 8 with a goal of addressing the pressing issue of climate change and its impacts on the community.

“Climate change is a generational concern, and this plan reflects our ambition to step up to the plate and meet that challenge for future generations" said Niall Lobley, Acting CAO and Director of Community & Environmental Services.

Now staff will begin to implement the actions included in the plan, starting with the 2024 budget cycle.
