The Brightshores Health System and Owen Sound Hospital Foundation are participating in the first "Split the Pot" lottery. It's a 50/50 draw with 13 lucky winners taking home half the pot and the other half helping out 22 hospitals across Ontario.
As of November 13 at 10 a.m., the estimated take home prize is $384,480. Of that amount, 20 per cent will be split between ten winners, two winners will split 20 per cent, and one will take home 60 per cent.
"Any money raised by the hospital foundation goes to support much needed medical equipment such as new MRIs, new vital sign machines, any equipment that you see around the hospital," said Amy McKinnon, CEO of Brightshores Health System.
In addition to the grand prize draw, Split the Pot is also holding early bird draws. The remainder of the early bird prizes will be given away November 16 and 23.
McKinnon shared that a Brightshores supporter won the early bird draw on October 27, taking home $1,000.
If you're interested in participating, tickets must be bought for the grand prize draw by November 30. The draw will take place on December 1. Tickets can be purchased here.
