The cost of garbage bag tags in Ashfield-Colbourne-Wawanosh is going up.
The township announced a $0.50 increase this week, noting that the price of bag tags hasn't gone up since 2005.
Bag tags will now cost $2.50.
According to a media release, the township says it spent $218,240 on curbside service last year and generated $108,120 in revenue from bag tags.
Along with blue box funding, (in the amount of $88,227) the township ran a deficit of $21,893 in waste disposal, which the $0.50 increase is projected to cover.
