Bruce County Paramedics receive support from local repair shop

A Walkerton family business continued its giving tradition, donating $1,000 to Bruce County Paramedics this week.

Marvin Freiburger and Sons Inc., a truck and trailer repair shop, has made an annual donation to the local paramedic services for years.

“Bruce County Paramedic Services is very honored that Marvin and Angela think of us every year, support our service, and give back to the community,” said Paramedic Services Chief Steve Schaus.

These funds will be put toward the purchase of digital signage boards at the Walkerton paramedic station.

The sign will provide real time communications about the daily shift roster, road and hospital closures, declared outbreaks, paramedic fleet status, and other emergency communications needed for daily paramedic operations.

Angela Freiburger presented the cheque on Thursday, noting that the family "appreciates the emergency services in the area and wants to acknowledge all the first responders that go out on a limb every day to keep people safe.”
