Virtual session hosted by MP Alex Ruff to discuss Canada Summer Jobs program

Local businesses in Ontario with plans to hire students next summer can explore potential grants through a virtual employer information session.

Open to not-for-profits, the public sector, and private businesses with 50 or fewer full-time employees, the program offers wage subsidies for young people aged 15 to 30.

Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MP Alex Ruff will host the information session on Monday, December 18 in collaboration with Service Canada. The session aims to guide employers through the grant application process, emphasizing key aspects such as health and safety practices, work environment policies, supervision, mentoring plans, and skills development.

Interested parties can register at www.alexruffmp.ca/csj, with the session taking place on December 18, 2023, at 1 p.m. via MS Teams.

Employer applications for the 2023 Canada Summer Jobs program are due by January 10, 2024.

Additional information about the program is available at www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/services/funding/canada-summer-jobs.html.
