Saugeen Shores police investigate snow fraud

A 37 year-old man from Saugeen Shores is facing fraud charges after promising snow removal services for the winter season.

Police allege several people in the community hired the suspect to clear the snow for the 2024 season.

Officers also said that the $300 was to paid before the service was completed. It was then found that the suspect did not attend the residences and complete the job he was paid for.

The man has been charged with five counts of fraud under $5,000.

Saugeen Shores police are reminding the public that paying ahead of time for a service is risky. Officers advise to hire a service that will provide an invoice and bill after the job is complete.
