Dog sought after biting incident in Kincardine

Grey Bruce Public Health is looking for the owner of a dog that bit a man in Kincardine on Thursday.

According to the Health Unit, around 8:50 a.m. the victim was walking down Mechanics Avenue when they were bitten by a dog, believed to be a German Shepherd.

The dog was reportedly on a leash at the time of the incident and was being walked by a woman who was also pushing a baby stroller.

Public Health says they need to confirm the dog is not infectious with the rabies virus so the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.

Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to call Grey Bruce Public Health at 519-376-9420 ext. 1530.
