Owen Sound Police Service have charged a 29-year-old man of no fixed address in connection with a break-in at a local cannabis retailer.
Police say on Tuesday morning around 2:30 a.m. a suspect used a rock to smash through the front bay window of the business. They entered the store, stole property including iPads, then climbed back through the window and fled the area.
Upon viewing video surveillance footage from the business, police say they were able to identify the suspect based on several recent arrests of the same individual for previous property crimes.
Around 8:30 a.m. a patrolling officer located and arrested the suspect in the area of 16th Street and 16th Avenue East. Police say he was searched and found in possession of two stolen iPad’s from the store.
The accused was charged with break, enter and commit theft; possession of property obtained by crime and obstructing a peace officer.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
