The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth (HSKWSP) has put out an urgent appeal for donations after performing several emergency procedures on feline friends in the past few weeks.
Most recently, HSKWSP took in Blossom, a stray who arrived in poor condition with untreated injuries.
Blossom will undergo an amputation Tuesday. The cost of the surgery, spay surgery (at a later date), antibiotics and cost of care, the society estimates it could cost over $4,000.
“The money raised from this campaign will help Blossom lead a healthy, happy life,” stated Victoria Baby, chief executive officer, the HSKWSP. “We have had several emergency cases like this within the past two weeks and rely on our community’s generosity to provide this life-saving medical care. We truly hope you’ll donate today.”
Lats week, the Humane Society performed an emergency amputation on Nimbus, a four month old kitten. The procedure cost $3,500, but they say he is recovering well in his foster home.
The week prior, they treated Kit Kat, a three-year-old that ingested highly toxic plant leaves. That set them back another $3,000, but Kit Kat feeling better and now up for adoption.
