Double break-in in Southgate leads to charges

One person is facing charges following break-ins at a seasonal property in Southgate.

On May 11, Grey Bruce OPP said a person broke into the property on Highway 89.

Two days later, on May 13, another report came in at the same property. Police arrived on the scene where they found the suspect.

Officers said there was no evidence tying the suspect in the second incident to the first.

A 35-year-old man from Amaranth Township is now facing charges of breaking and entering a dwelling/house, theft under $5,000, and mischief.

Grey Bruce OPP reminds all homeowners to check in on their property and report all suspicious activity.
