Walkerton Tennis Courts reopen

The upgrades to the Walkerton Tennis Courts are complete.

New fencing, lighting, resurfacing, and the addition of three pickleball courts were all part of the construction project that began last summer.

"Tennis and pickleball are a fantastic way for participants of all ages to enjoy getting active and engaging in sport," said Colleen Gillis the Director of Community Services. "The upgrades to this facility will provide opportunities within our community to continue to meet the demands and growth of these increasingly popular sports."

The project was prioritized by council and funded partially by proceeds from the sale of the former Armoury Building. The rest of the funding came through donations from local service clubs and businesses.

"We thank the donors for their generosity and the volunteers for giving their time, energy, and support towards this community project," Gillis said.
