Hanover's police chief says a 40-year-old man from Kitchener was arrested at gunpoint Saturday morning in possession of a stolen vehicle.
According to a social media post from Chief Christopher Knoll, the suspect was in a vehicle reported stolen from the Waterloo region in July 2023. The man also reportedly had "a stun gun and other weapons" in his possession.
Members of the Hanover and West Grey Police Service responded to the call. The suspect was arrested shortly after 9 a.m. Police say he was wanted in several jurisdictions, including Hanover.
The man is facing a variety of charges and was scheduled for a bail hearing Saturday afternoon.
