Inquest to be held into death of Perth County man

An inquest will be held into the death of a Perth County man, who died following an interaction with the Perth County OPP.

Dr. Elizabeth Urbantke, Regional Supervising Coroner, West Region, London Office, has announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Richard Racz.

Racz, who was 61-years-old when he died, passed away following an interaction with Perth County OPP officers on April 14, 2018. An inquest into his death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will look into the circumstances that led to Mr. Racz's death, and a jury may potentially offer recommendations to prevent similar deaths.

The date and location of the inquest hearing will be determined at a later date, according to the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
