Grey Bruce OPP stopped four motorists on the weekend for stunt driving.
On May 31, 2024, at 8:55 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint of a vehicle passing unsafely and exceeding the speed limit. OPP officers located a suspect vehicle on Bruce Road 10 in South Bruce Peninsula allegedly travelling 158km/h in a 70 zone. A 21-year-old from Concord was charged with stunt driving, and unsafe passing.
On June 1, 2024, at 8:45 p.m., the Grey Bruce OPP were patrolling Highway 6 in Northern Bruce Peninsula when they observed a motor vehicle travelling at 141 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. A 44-year-old from Brampton was charged with stunt driving.
On June 2, 2024, at 4:52 p.m., the Grey Bruce OPP were patrolling Highway 6 in South Bruce Peninsula when they observed a motor vehicle allegedly travelling at 142 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. A 33-year-old from Mississauga was charged with stunt driving.
On June 2, 2024, at 5:50 p.m., the Grey Bruce OPP were patrolling Highway 6 in South Bruce Peninsula when they observed a motor vehicle allegedly travelling at 137km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. A 29-year-old from Brantford was charged with stunt driving.
"Drivers and other road users can significantly contribute to safer roads by avoiding taking unnecessary risks and complying with all traffic laws," read a statement from Grey Bruce OPP.
