Kincardine and Bruce County offering grants to 'Spruce the Bruce'

The Municipality of Kincardine has partnered with Bruce County, offering grants to "Spruce the Bruce".

The Spruce the Bruce grant program is part of the Community Improvement Plan, giving business and property owners in downtown Kincardine and Tiverton grants to improve or get new signage, install awnings or patios, and improve accessibility.

"Last year, we reconstructed our downtown so we're continuing to make improvements and really wanting to help our businesses make improvements to our downtown," said Cherie Leslie, community economic development coordinator with Kincardine. "We're also welcoming a lot of new businesses in our community this year, so we're excited to be offering some grants to get them started."

The grants are on a first-come-first-serve basis. Agri-food and tourism sectors are also eligible, as well as any businesses in the municipality looking to improve accessibility. Projects must be finished by the end of the year to be eligible.

More information on the grants and requirements can be found here. Any questions can be directed to the Municipality of Kincardine by calling 519-396-3468.
