$30,000 multi-jurisdictional investigation results in arrests

OPP officers from Huron, Perth, Wellington, and Grey Bruce OPP joined forces for a $30,000 drug trafficking investigation that led to charges against two people.

Two Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrants were carried out at a house on Trafalgar Street in Mitchell and at a home on Ainley Street in Brussels.

Police seized purple and yellow fentanyl, methamphetamine, psilocybin, cash, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and a Suzuki motorcycle. Police said the motorcycle is believed to be stolen.

The estimated value of the drugs is $25,000, the seized property is $3,700, and the sum of money is just over $1,600.

A 42-year-old of Huron East and a 50-year-old from West Perth have been arrested and are facing multiple charges related to drugs.

The Huron East man is also facing charges of obstructing a peace officer, altering, destroying, or removing a vehicle identification number, and failure to comply with a probation order.
