Police make major meth bust

Wellington County OPP have arrested and charged one person following a drug bust.

On June 19, a patrolling OPP officer allegedly spotted an individual in a silver sedan trafficking a controlled substance on the Main Street of Mount Forest around 11:15 p.m.

Following an investigation, police arrested a 58-year-old Mount Forest native and charged the accused with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine and Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamine, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on July 23. Officers seized nearly $100,000 in drugs, trafficking equipment and cash.
