The second annual Afro Caribbean Youth Awards are being planned for fall in the Municipality of Kincardine.
The municipality is working with community partners to celebrate Afro Caribbean youth living in Grey and Bruce Counties.
Nominations are being accepted this summer for youth who demonstrate creativity, leadership, cultural dignity, academic merit, or community involvement. People may also want to recognize a youth for their community involvement, advocacy for social justice, commitment to diversity and inclusion, or music, art, drama and dance accomplishments.
People can provide information about a youth they would like to nominate either online, or by phoning the municipal office. Nomination forms can be found at: www.kincardine.ca/ACYA2024-Nomination. People can also request a paper nomination form by calling 519-396-3468.
The award ceremony will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
