Four people are charged with drug-related offences after a traffic stop in Saugeen First Nation turned up illegal opioids.
Grey Bruce OPP were on routine patrol on Pashwood Drive when an officer spotted a vehicle pulling a trailer without lights around 3:45 a.m. on Saturday. The officer pulled the vehicle over and determined its driver was prohibited from getting behind the wheel.
A search of the vehicle was then conducted. It turned up an undisclosed quantity of drugs.
The driver and three passengers were arrested.
A 44-year-old from Wellington County, a 51-year-old from Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation, and a 26 and 28-year-old from Saugeen First Nation are charged with possession of a schedule I substance.
The 44-year-old faces an additional charge of driving while prohibited.
All four of the accused are scheduled to appear in Walkerton court in relation to the charges on August 28.
