South Bruce Peninsula updating Community Improvement Plan

The Town of South Bruce Peninsula is holding a public meeting later this month where residents can weigh in on changes to the Community Improvement Plan (CIP).

On August 20, a public meeting will be held in the Municipal Council Chambers in Wiarton to hear public comments on the new revisions to the CIP.

Clerk Angie Cathrae told council that the change was needed in order to access specific Bruce County funding.

"The updated CIP will replace the current CIP and will allow for increased access by businesses and property owners in the municipality to apply for potential funding opportunities including Bruce County’s Spruce the Bruce Program," she said.

The changes include expanding grant opportunities to include Agri-food Innovation, Business Accessibility and Adaptability, Product and Experience Development and Residential Improvement.

The draft of the new plan can be found online.

Written comments can also be submitted ahead of time to the Town Clerk.

The meeting will take place at 9 a.m. on August 20, 2024.
