Bruce Power fuels fundraising for Alberta wildfire relief

Bruce Power’s fundraising campaign for Alberta wildfire relief has resulted in a $40,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross.

Bruce Power matched the employee and community contributions of $20,000, while the Alberta and Canadian governments are tripling the donation. That brings the total contribution from the campaign to $120,000.

“Bruce Power believes strongly in community and along with Bruce Power employees and local residents, extends its support to Alberta to help our neighbours in need,” said James Scongack, Bruce Power’s Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice-President. “We support the Red Cross for its tireless and selfless commitment to helping those in need.”

The Red Cross is delivering emergency relief to those impacted by the devastation of fires in Jasper and other regional areas.

The money raised will allow the Red Cross to provide relief and support recovery efforts, resiliency, and preparedness activities as many residents return home and others continue to be displaced.
