Cyclist assaulted during confrontation with driver east of Stratford

Provincial police are looking for the driver of a black pickup truck who allegedly assaulted a cyclist east of Stratford.

According to Perth OPP, the cyclist was peddling north on Perth Road 111 between Highway 8 and Line 37 in the Township of Perth East around 4 p.m. last Saturday when a passing vehicle pulled over and the driver got out.

During what police are calling an "interaction" between the pair, the cyclist was assaulted. The driver left the area right after the incident.

The cyclist was not physically hurt, police said.

The assault was reported to police two days later.

Investigators now want to speak with the driver of the truck which was described as a newer model, black Dodge Ram.

The driver is said to be a Caucasian man, in his mid-50s, approximately 6'4", 300 lbs with a short buzz-cut style hair. He was wearing a baseball cap at the time of the incident.
