Grey Bruce OPP stopped a suspended driver who was allegedly out cruising the roads during a blizzard.
An officer spotted a vehicle that was missing its front licence plate on Main Street in Dundalk just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday. Further investigation found the licence plate on the back of the vehicle was stolen from Texas.
Police stopped the vehicle without incident. A search turned up a quantity of unmarked cigarettes.
A 29-year-old from Beeton is charged with two counts of driving while under suspension and one count each of possession of unmarked cigarettes, and using plates not authorized for vehicle. The accused will appear in Owen Sound court in relation to the charges at a later date.
"The Grey Bruce OPP is warning drivers that if your licence is suspended, do not drive. It is illegal and can lead to fines, arrest, or longer suspensions. Please resolve your suspension prior to driving a vehicle," police said.
