Bruce County has released the schedule for all hazardous household waste collection events this year.
The events are meant to encourage residents to safely and responsibly dispose of many hazardous items as part of their annual home and property clean-up.
Many items can be disposed of at these events, including paints and stains, propane tanks, used oil and oil filters, aerosols and solvents, batteries and antifreeze, household cleaners, fluorescent lights, fertilizers and pesticides, fuel, pool chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and fire extinguishers.
Bruce County staff stress that commercial, industrial, agricultural waste, PCB materials, ammunition, and flares will NOT be accepted. Only containers 30 litres or smaller will be accepted.
Waste must be delivered in disposable containers. Containers will not be emptied and returned (e.g., gas cans will not be returned). Empty metal paint cans are recyclable through your blue box program.
