Suspect charged after backing into police car

A Listowel man is facing nine charges after colliding with a Perth County OPP cruiser on Tuesday.

On April 29, police responded to a call for a suspicious vehicle in the town of Listowel.

According to OPP, when officers arrived, the vehicle — which was found to be stolen — reversed into a police cruiser before attempting to flee.

A 22-year-old Listowel man is now facing charges including dangerous operation, flight from police, possession of property obtained by crime (over $5,000) and driving while under suspension.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing on Wednesday in Stratford Court.
