South Bruce OPP have confirmed one person died and another was injured in a workplace accident Friday morning.
The incident was reported around 6 a.m. in Chepstow, along Concession Road 6.
"Police attended the scene and discovered that an individual was trapped under a concrete wall," police said in a statement released Friday afternoon. "As a result of the incident, a 37-year-old resident of Hanover was pronounced deceased. Additionally, a 35-year-old resident of Arran-Elderslie was injured and transported to a London area trauma centre."
A Ministry of Labour spokesperson said in a statement it has been notified and will continue the investigation.
"The ministry extends its sincere condolences to the family and colleagues of the worker who succumbed to their injuries and expresses concern for the critically injured worker," read the statement. "A ministry inspector has been assigned to investigate, and one requirement has been issued to the employer, Fritz-All/Fitz-Alder. As the investigation is ongoing, no further details are available at this time."
