The St. Marys quarry is just two weeks away from opening for the season. The town announced the quarry will officially be back open for daily swims from 11 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. starting on June 27. The super splash inflatable park is also returning for the 2025 season. Billed as a water playground it offers a 14-foot ice tower and 12-foot action tower inflatables.
Admission to the quarry is $5 for kids aged 3 to 18 and $7.50 for adults. A resident season pass will also be available for frequent visitors to the quarry. It ranges in price from $74.80 to $114.19 and is valid on weekdays only. The cost to access the super splash inflatable park is not included in the quarry admission. Pricing and pass information for the park is available at www.supersplashstmarys.ca.
People heading to the quarry for a day of fun can park for free across the street, as well as at lots that are just a short walk away. The town has uploaded a comprehensive parking map into its website at www.townofstmarys.com/quarry. A pedestrian crossover is also in place to ensure those venturing from the parking lot to the quarry get there safely. For cyclists, there are bike racks located at the front entrance, the town said.
The popular swimming spot was formally a limestone quarry. It closed in 1920 and in the mid-1940s was converted into a public swimming area.
Life jackets are recommended for those taking a dip in the quarry and are available to use at no cost.
