MPP honours "outstanding" local residents with King Charles III Coronation Medals

Six Huron-Bruce residents were recently honoured with King Charles III Coronation Medals.

Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson shared in a media release that medals were recently given to Jeff Cardiff, Duncan Hawthorne, Ken Irwin, Julie Sawchuk, Todd Thompson and Mary Ellen Zielman for their contributions to their communities.

The recipients were all given their medals at a special ceremony on July 3 in Goderich.

Thompson also presented a coronation medal to the Deputy Fire Chief for the City of Burlington, Jeremy Inglis, formerly of Belmore, on behalf of the Ontario Solicitor General.

The King Charles III Coronation Medal is a commemorative honour that recognizes individuals who have demonstrated a strong commitment to service, community leadership, and the betterment of society.

"The evening ceremony brought together friends and family to celebrate the achievements and contributions of each recipient. The medals serve as a symbol of appreciation from the Crown for their continued commitment to improving the lives of those around them," said MPP Thompson.
