The Wingham and District Hospital Foundation is excited about receiving an $80,000 grant.
The hospital foundation says that it has received an $80,000 grant from the Leland and Thora Vance Fund, which is held at the Waterloo Region Community Foundation.
"Lee and Thora Vance were long-time Wingham residents and local business owners with a deep-rooted commitment to community. They continue their legacy of supporting causes close to their hearts through the endowment fund established with WRCF," a statement from the foundation said.
The grant money received will be going towards purchasing a new scope cabinet for the hospital’s Operating Room.
This specialized equipment is vital for the safe storage and sterilization of surgical scopes, ensuring they remain ready for use in life-saving and routine procedures.
"The Wingham & District Hospital Foundation extends a sincere thanks to all those serving on the Vance Fund committee: Dave Tiffin, Carol Phillips, Andy McBride, Lisa Hearnden and Paul Heffer. Their dedication to honouring the legacy of Lee and Thora Vance is helping ensure that quality health care remains accessible in our rural community," the foundation said.
