Huron County OPP have seized a quantity of drugs and weapons following a recent raid in Huron East.
According to police, an investigation was initiated in September this year by the Huron-Perth Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), which led investigators to an address in Huron East.
OPP officers from the Huron-Perth CSCU, West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), and members from the Huron OPP detachment assisted with searching the address on September 30.
A quantity of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine was seized. The total value of the illegal drugs seized is over $40,000.
Officers also seized cash, drug paraphernalia, and weapons, including a shotgun with ammunition and imitation firearms. The other offence-related property totalled $2,600. Nearly $1,200 in Canadian currency was also seized.
A 41-year-old Huron East resident is facing numerous charges including drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and careless storage of a firearm.
The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, and later remanded into custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.
