Stratford police have arrested a developmental support worker after a woman died last month.
Officers were called to a supportive living residence in St. Marys at about 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, on a report of a sudden death.
When first responders arrived, they found a 40-year-old woman unresponsive. Attempts to save her life by Perth County Paramedics were ultimately unsuccessful.
On April 1, investigators arrested a support worker who had been employed by Community Living St. Marys and Area. Police publicly announced the charges on Monday.
The suspect has been charged with criminal negligence causing death and failure to provide the necessities of life.
The charges have not been proven in court. The suspect was released from custody on an undertaking, with a court appearance scheduled for May 11.
