CMHA Grey Bruce My Dad's Group spring sessions set for May

The spring sessions for the popular My Dad's Group hosted by Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Grey Bruce are set to kick off next month.

CMHA Grey Bruce says the sessions will begin May 5 in Hanover and May 6 in Owen Sound, with some spaces still available.

My Dad's Group is a parental support group for men in Grey and Bruce counties, giving men the chance to connect with other dads, learn more about their children’s needs through different ages and stages, and work on the skills they need to be effective parents and co-parents.

The twelve session program runs weekly from 6-8:30 p.m. Sessions will be on Tuesday evenings in Hanover and Wednesdays in Owen Sound. Sessions are free to attend and dinner is provided. CMHA Grey Bruce also has gas cards available to assist those who may be facing transportation cost challenges.

Interested dads can register online at greybruce.cmha.ca/programs/my-dads-group/ or contact the Men’s Program at 519-372-2720 or via email at mp@cmhagb.org. Registration is on a first-come basis and spaces are limited.

"It’s easy to find parenting advice online or on social media but learning with other people increases connection and deepens understanding. It’s a powerful thing to know that you’re not alone in facing the challenges of parenting in 2026," shared CMHA Grey Bruce Men’s Program Supervisor Jon Farmer. "There are so many factors that can make it hard to show up as the dads we want to be. My Dad’s Group explores real life challenges and gives guys a chance to share solutions and support. We weren’t all given the male role models that we needed as kids and My Dad’s Group is a chance to make sure that we can show up for our own children in the most supportive and healthiest way possible, through the great times and the tough times."
