South Bruce OPP have seized $264,000 worth of illicit drugs following a search warrant execution in Walkerton.
Police shared that a recent investigation by the South Bruce OPP and the Community Street Crimes Unit led investigators to an address in Walkerton.
On April 8, a search warrant was executed at an address on Orange Street in Walkerton, where police seized quantities of suspected cocaine, fentanyl, offence-related property, and Canadian currency. Offence-related property including weigh scales and cellular phones.
As a result, two Brockton natives were arrested and charged. Both suspects are 58-years-old, and face charges of possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.
Both suspects have since been released and have court dates scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on April 22 and May 20, respectively.
"This investigation represents a significant disruption to the illegal drug trade within our communities, The dedicated work of the Community Street Crime Unit, supported by frontline officers, reinforces a clear and unequivocal message that drug trafficking will not be tolerated in South Bruce communities," said South Bruce OPP Detachment Staff Sergeant Lynn McNichol.
