Break-in brings large OPP response to South Bruce Peninsula

Residents in South Bruce Peninsula are being reassured there is no threat to public safety after a break-in investigation brought a large number of police officers to the area.

Grey Bruce OPP flooded the Howdenvale area around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The public was asked to avoid the community on the shores of Lake Huron while officers were on scene.

Police later confirmed it was for an investigation into a break-and-enter that had occurred. No other details have been provided.

Officers cleared the area just before 1 a.m. on Wednesday.

Residents are being told to stay vigilant and if they see anything suspicious to call police at 1-888-310-1122 or 9-1-1 in an emergency.
