100 Women Who Care Grey Bruce have donated nearly $40,000 to CMHA Grey Bruce following the group’s first meeting of 2026.
Held on March 28, the 100 Women Who Care group announced the donation that will directly support CMHA's local programs that support mental health and housing needs.
According to a media release from 100 Women Who Care Grey Bruce, in the past year alone, 375 people in Grey County and 109 households in Bruce County experienced homelessness.
In that time, CMHA Grey Bruce helped to support 52 individuals with supportive housing options that allowed those people to transition permanently out of homelessness.
A portion of the donated funds will be used to fully renovate an apartment currently in poor condition, transforming it into two safe, stable homes. These units will accommodate up to four individuals who are currently unhoused or precariously housed.
The remaining funds will support the creation of Welcome Home Kits for individuals moving into secure housing. These kits will include things like bedding, basic kitchenware, cleaning supplies, and lighting.
Since its founding in 2013, the 100 Women Who Care group has donated more than $500,000 to organizations across Grey and Bruce counties.
