Search continues for missing swimmer at Pinery Provincial Park

The search continues for a missing swimmer at Pinery Provincial Park following a water emergency on Victoria Day.

Lambton OPP responded to the park at around 3 p.m. on Monday, May 18.

Police said five people on a raft in Lake Huron became distressed. Four were able to make it to safety and were not injured, while one individual is still missing. 

Further details about the missing swimmer, including their age, have not been released.

Lambton OPP said aviation services, the OPP Underwater search and Recovery Unit, and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre continue coordinated search efforts in the area.

"The Lambton OPP recognizes the impact this incident has had on the individuals involved, their loved ones, first responders, and the broader community, and continues to thank the public for their patience and support as search efforts continue," read an OPP media release.
