Huron OPP making sure boaters obeying safety rules

The return of sunny, warm days has also brought Huron County OPP back to the water.

Marine officers with the detachment have begun patrols of the Lake Huron shoreline and marinas along the Huron County coast for the 2026 season.

The officers are responsible for 126 kilometres of shoreline from Grand Bend to Amberley.

While on patrol, officers will be checking vessels to ensure boaters are complying with safety rules and driving sober.

Anyone looking for additional information about boating safety can find it on Transport Canada's website.
