UPDATE: Air quality warning ends for Lambton, southern Huron

Air quality in portions of southwestern Ontario has improved after an alert was issued on Thursday.

Environment Canada issued a yellow-level air quality warning on Friday for southern Huron and Lambton counties, warning that sunny and hot conditions could cause high levels of air pollution.

The deteriorating air can commonly lead to eye, nose, and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. In less common cases, the air pollution can cause wheezing, chest pains, or a severe cough.

The air quality warning was lifted at around 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
