Just hours left to vote in the 2026 municipal election

Monday marks the final day eligible voters can cast a ballot in the 2026 municipal and school board election.

The voting period opened for most voters in midwestern Ontario roughly a week ago. Since then voters have been able to cast a ballot 24 hours a day either online or by telephone. Voter assistance centres have also been available to register those not on the voter list, help with online voting, and answer questions about the election process.

Online and telephone voting will close at 8 p.m. on Monday. Anyone at one of the assistance centres, in the online portal, or on the telephone voting line at that time will be able to complete and submit their ballot. However, no additional ballots can be accepted after voting closes.

Voter information cards with the credentials needed to cast a ballot and a list of candidates were mailed at the start of the month.

Election results are expected to start coming in after 8:30 p.m.
