Exeter Down 2-0

The Exeter Hawks broke the goose-egg, but were unable to manage much more in a 3-1 loss to Essex.

Played at home, game 2 of the Schmalz Cup quarterfinals was played in front of a full house in Exeter with the a Hawks coming in after a 3-0 loss in game 1.

Essex would score first, adding a goal in each period for to take a 2-0 series lead back home.

Chase Thornton would find the net for the Hawks, scoring with less than 10 minutes remaining in the third.

James Morreau made 36 saves in the loss. Game 3 is Sunday night in Essex.
