Brock Dykxhoorn Moving Up Minor League Ranks

While Major League Baseball is in full swing, Goderich born pitcher Brock Dykxhoorn is moving up the minor league ranks.

The 6 foot 8 pitcher is starting this season on the Quad City Riverbandits, a Class A affiliate of the Houston Astros

On Monday he got his first start and was solid in a 6-2 win over the Seattle Mariners affiliate team.

Dykxhoorn pitched 5 shutout innings in his season debut, with only 2 hits and 6 strikeouts.

Class A ball is a step up for the Astros' 6th round pick in 2014. He spent last season playing rookie league for Greeneville.
