Milverton's Scott Steckly led for 154 laps but would end his day early in The Budweiser 300 at Autodrome Chaudiere in Quebec.
The veteran racer in the NASCAR Canadian Tire series would start in 6th spot and work his way into top spot on lap 109 of the 300 lap race.
Steckly would take the lead twice more before eventual winner Jason Hathaway took over on lap 266 and led the rest of the way. Steckly would leave the race after 272 laps and finish in 16th.
That was the second race of the young season with Steckly finishing fifth in the Pinty's Clarington 200. His next race is at Sunset Speedway this upcoming weekend.
