Harriston Speed Skater To Compete in China

Harriston speed skater Paisley Perrie is on her way to China as part of an international team.

The Chinese Skating Federation invited Perrie and athletes from Holland, Germany, Poland, Australia and New Zealand to compete in a four day event of track and road skating this week.

It will be the first international competition for Perrie since the 2012 World Championships in Italy. Due to illness she has taken 2 years off of competetive skating.

In May she was back competing and qualified as the first alternate for the Pan Am Games.

"It will give me a chance to see my competition," says Perrie. "And get a better idea of my skating abilities for the upcoming World Championships later this year in Taiwan."

This is her last year as a Junior and is excited to represent Canada in Lishui, China which is 16 hours north of Hong Kong along the coast of the East China Sea.
