The Mount Forest Patriots put up a big win in Walkerton Friday night against the Hawks with an 8-3 scoreline.
Rookie goalie Kevin Hutchison stood tall all game long, and was named the Johnny K Sports Player of the Game. After the win, Hutchison spoke with CKNX News about beating a tough Walkerton team: "It's pretty easy to win when you get 8 goals, I basically just had to hold down the fort and play well. This isn't an easy place to come and win, and we battled hard and we got it done."
Hutchison also touched on the 4 new additions to the team in Ty Jackson, Matt Oullet, Troy Oakley and Riley O'Connell. As Hutchison says, "they're all beauties, they make everyone better, and they're all super nice guys and are great additions to our team."
Despite having 4 power-plays in the first period alone, the Hawks couldn't get their offense rolling and played from behind all night. This was the Patriots second win in as many meetings with the Hawks, as they took the previous decision in Mount Forest 7-4.
