Kincardine Native Garrett McFadden Named OHL Humanitarian Of The Year

Kincardine native Garrett McFadden was given a special honour today by the Ontario Hockey League.

The Guelph Storm captain, who just completed his overage year, was named the 2017-18 OHL Humanitarian of the Year, for his work with his mental health initiative called McFadden's Movement. Garrett managed to raise $20,000 toward local mental health resources through his work supporting youth mental health.

The OHL announced McFadden would be receiving the Dan Snyder Humanitarian of the Year award earlier this afternoon. McFadden spent his entire 5 year career with the Storm, which included winning the OHL championship in 2014, serving as captain the past 2 years.
