Wingham's Jacklin Sets Provincial Record

Ryan Jacklin of Wingham led Saugeen Track and Field Club athletes with a triple medal performance at the Youth National Track and Field Championships held in Brandon, Manitoba over the weekend.

Jacklin won gold in the U18 discus and hammer events and earned a bronze in the Shot Put. Each of his performances was a personal best and a club Age Class Record. Ryan's 64.81 hammer throw is also an Ontario U17 and U18 record

Emily Bryce contributed the other medal performance in the U16 Girls Sprint Medley Relay. Her outstanding 800m anchor leg clinched the gold for Ontario.

Jeremy Elliott (U18 Discus), Hanna Van Stuyvenberg (U18 Discus) and Ben Brewer (U16 Shot Put) all contributed fourth-place performances.

STFC athletes earned 15 top 10 performances at these championships.
