Rangers hold on, Knights and Storm Lose

The Owen Sound Attack and Kitchener Rangers exchanged shots in a 5-3 Kitchener win.

Greg Meireles opened the scoring for the home team at the 7:03 mark of the first period. That would be the first of his three goals on the night. The Ranger forward also scored what would be the winner at the 7:47 mark of the third period. An empty net goal would give him the hat trick.

The Owen Sound Attack had chances, out shooting their opponent 39-24 but Luke Richardson stood firm in the Kitchener net.

 

North Bay 4 London 3 (OT)

London outshot North Bay 40 to 30 and even opened up the scoring as Liam Foundy scored at 5:39.

The lead would change hands a couple of times and London held a 3-2 advantage going into the third period. North Bay tied it early in the period then won it in overtime.

Brandon Coe scored at 2:17 to end the game.

 

Niagara 4 Guelph 3

The Niagara Ice Dogs built up a 4-1 lead by the end of two periods, helped out by a couple of power play goals

Guelph made a push in the third pulling to within one but that was as close as they got.

The Storm peppered the Niagara net with 52 shots but goalie Stephen Dhillon made 49 saves.
